RGA calculates CAPEMIAC’s Carbon Footprint on its 40th anniversary

As part of CAPEMIAC’s environmental commitment, it requested RGA, as a member of the organization, to develop the inventory of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions – Carbon Footprint – of its operation, becoming the first trade union organization in Venezuela to carry out such action.

Once the Carbon Footprint has been calculated, the organization’s path towards sustainability begins, since only what is known and controlled can be improved, thus demonstrating to the local, national and international community its true environmental commitment. Additionally, this tool allows the development of roadmaps for the mitigation of emissions, which directly influence the reduction of costs, as well as the possibility of obtaining international financing with the sale of green bonds resulting from this operation.

For CAPEMIAC, the goal of becoming CARBON NEUTRAL is now a reality, with which its operations could be compensated in the medium term, setting the standard in this matter at an international level. For the rest of the organizations affiliated with CAPEMIAC, the fact of joining this effort, more than a notion of Corporate Social Responsibility, is an opportunity to control their costs, and to be able to participate in increasingly demanding markets in this regard.

The development of this inventory was made public during the commemorative ceremony of the 40th anniversary of CAPEMIAC, in which RGA delivered a plaque celebrating the initiative of the camera from the hands of Eng. Raúl González Acuña, President of RGA ENGINEERING INTERNATIONAL.
